Lewisville is not usually top of mind as a hotbed of handcrafted vodka, yet that’s where you’ll find the DeLos Vodka distillery (delosvodka.com). Owner Carlos Guillem (the “Los” of DeLos) began tinkering with stills as a hobby, finally leaping into business last year. DeLos doesn’t distill their vodka from purchased bulk alcohol, as many others do; instead, DeLos ferments its own wheat and rye then distills that into vodka. read more

Restaurateur Shannon Wynne has taken his gastropub show to the Dallas Design District with Meddlesome Moth. And just as its proverbial namesake is drawn to flame, crowds are flocking to the city’s newest hip hang. With 40 draft beers, 75 bottled beers, tasting flights, a few live ales and a bar menu, the place buzzes with energy and fun. The Moth will soon begin hosting beer appreciation classes, says Wynne, who hopes the restaurant will also thrive on the quality of its food. read more
